Membership

Membership – The commitment to grow in and serve Christ, His Church and the community through the local church.

Is membership important?

Membership at Rock Valley Chapel is more than just signing up to be on the mailing list and voting at congregational meetings. It is about commitment. It is a commitment to:

• Christ – To grow in my knowledge, love and obedience to the Lord Jesus.
• Church – To use my gifts to encourage, grow and serve with and for other Christians.
• Community – To practically share the love of Christ with those who don’t yet know Him.

Expectations of Membership: (from our Church Covenant)

• To protect the unity of our church...  

                ... by acting in love toward other members
                ... by pursuing peaceful, harmonious relationships with one another
                ... by following the leaders

• To share the responsibility of our church...

                ... by praying for God's direction in the church
                ... by inviting the unchurched to attend
                ... by warmly welcoming those who visit

• To serve the ministry of our church...

                ... by discovering my gifts and talents
                ... by being equipped to serve by my pastors
                ... by developing a servant's heart

• To support the testimony of our church...

                ... by attending faithfully
                ... by living a growing and godly life
                ... by giving regularly

Membership Process:

• Attend a Welcome Class
• Fill out and submit Membership Application
• Meet with the Elders (sharing how you came to faith in Christ)
• Upon approval of the church leaders, be welcomed as a new member of RVC at a Sunday worship service
